In business, and life in general, taking prompt action is one of the most outstanding leadership qualities and a key element to grab opportunities as they become available. You cannot afford procrastinating important decisions. Almost everything you do in business either brings you money or takes it away from you. Missed opportunities can be very costly.
Learn to make timely decisions and act on them promptly.
Always weigh the pros and cons of an issue before you make a firm decision. Once you have made the decision stay firm on it, unless there are enough reasons to prove that the decision was a wrong one. In that case you should have the flexibility to correct, change or revise it.
Avoid procrastination as much as you can. If allowed, procrastination can prevent you from reaching your goals. A good friend of mine was trapped by procrastination for 10 years. He wanted to start a career in writing. For ten years he was making excuses for himself. Things like not having total knowledge of the grammar, not knowing everything a writer should know about styles and many other lame excuses.
One day I asked him about his writing plans. After exhausting all his reasons, I asked him: Do you really want to be a writer? “Of course I do. Don’t you know that?” he answered with an angry tone. “Well, if you are serious about it, then nothing should block your way, nothing. Think about it.”
A week later he gave me a call and told me that he had finished writing the first chapter of his book. In a few months his book was finished. This is the power of the now habit.
